Katherine Mae Sorrells-Rae, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away on July 25, 2024, one day after her 81st birthday. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Andy and Ailleen Sorrells.
She was an avid seamstress and loved quilting. Katherine worked in the education field for nearly 20 years and was affiliated with the Daughters of Scotia.
Katherine is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Mitch) Jordan; sons, Thane (Timberly) Rae, Daniel (Leslie) Phillips, and Kael (Candace) Sorrells; sister, Carolyn Gober; Grandchildren, Bentley, Evelyn, Lyra, and Adler Sorrells, Jack (Beth) Jordan, Mackenzie (Ben) Watson, Topanga and Theron Rae, MyKaelah, Caedmon, and Calyen Phillips; and great-grandchild, Rylee Jordan.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, Arizona, 85142.
Please join us by wearing red, white, &/or blue as we celebrate our “Nana Kate.” If you have a handmade item she made you feel free to bring it. We plan to display quilts & other items mom made for family members. (One of mom’s bucket list items was to have a rose garden. In lieu of flower arrangements, if you desire to help us create her rose garden it will be appreciated but not required). There will be a reception with Mexican food after the ceremony.
