Yoga, plus another week of ice skating at Schnepf Farms

"We had about 40 people at this first yoga session and it was so nice and relaxing in the farm atmosphere," said Carrie Schepf. "They came to me last month wanting to do this to give back to the community and it's been so wonderful that I'd love to talk them into doing it twice a month."

Excessive rainfall on New Year's Eve wrapped up the Christmas light display season early at both Schnepf Farms and Vertuccio Farms in Mesa, but that doesn't mean the fun has ended at Queen Creek's favorite farm.

Schnepf Farms is always coming up with new things to entertain the community so ice skating for $10 will continue there through Sunday, Jan. 9. Hours this week are from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Also for the new year, Arizona Yoga Academy is offering free classes at Schnepf Farms on the first Saturday of the month, just bring your own mat or towel. The first session just passed, but the next one will take place on Saturday, Feb. 5.
