Through its collaborative efforts with over a hundred agencies and community partners, Mesa-based United Food Bank is able to serve more than two million Arizonans annually.
United Food Bank supports its agency partners with its annual RISE Agency Grant Program. Through this program, United Food Bank will be distributing a total of $191,583 to 32 agencies.
The RISE Agency Grant Program works to financially support partner-lead projects that elevate food pantry operations and grow the overall impact of the food assistance network within the community. The goal behind the program is to build capacity, facilitate sustainability and promote creativity amongst agency partners to increase food security in Arizona.
Current United Food Bank food pantry partners were invited to apply to be considered for this grant and could request up to $10,000 in funds for support of equipment and facilities, sustainability and development, or community health. The 32 agencies that will be receiving funds all work to assist Arizona children, adults, seniors and Native American communities.
“Our goal at United Food Bank is to provide food for today and ensure food security for tomorrow. Our RISE Grant program is a crucial part of that mission. We are grateful for the opportunity to support our partners by not only meeting immediate needs but also investing in solutions that will help them better alleviate hunger in Arizona,” said Jason Reed, CEO of United Food Bank.
United Food Bank works with agencies and nonprofits across its service area of the East Valley and eastern Arizona that operate food programs such as food pantries, meal sites, after-school youth meal programs.
