Schnepf Farms is bustling today as they are planting an orchard of Earligrande peaches.
This week alone, 1,000 3-year-old bare root peach trees are going in the ground at the farm, where they've been growing peaches for more than 50 years.
"I love the fact that we are still very much farmers in this growing Town of Queen Creek," said Carrie Schnepf. "We grow eight different varieties of peaches on the farm that ripen at different times throughout the month of May. Typically, a peach tree has about a 15- to 18-year lifespan and after that they make great firewood."
