Last Queen Creek Family Market of the year happening Dec. 16

In the new year, they will continue the market on Jan. 13 and Jan. 27, Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, March 9 and March 23. Future dates beyond that will be announced later in 2024.

The Queen Creek Family Market will be back this weekend to complete the holiday shopping season.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 16, shop the 200-plus vendors at the market, now located at Schnepf Farms, 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road.

Support local artisans by shopping for unique gifts, home decor, vintage and repurposed items. The market features arts and crafts, soaps and candles, clothes and jewelry, kid items and more. There will be food booths/trucks along with a bounce house for kids and face painting.

Founder Kelly Crandall started the market in 2017 after moving to Arizona in 2016. She wanted to create a market with a little bit of everything and spent a year putting in work before it got off the ground. The market began with only 30 vendors, but its popularity exploded and they now have more than 190 vendors.

The difference between this family market and other farmers markets that didn’t succeed in the past, Crandall noted, is community.

“We make it like a family,” she said. “We all have a mutual respect for each other.”

The market also supports a local dog rescue, Love Connection Dog Rescue of Chandler, who usually brings 15 to 24 dogs looking to be adopted. Crandall has two dogs from the rescue. Dogs are welcomed at the market as long as you pick up after them.

“I love watching a community come together,” Crandall said. “There’s a little bit here for everybody.”

In the new year, they will continue the market on Jan. 13 and Jan. 27, Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, March 9 and March 23. Future dates beyond that will be announced later in 2024.
