Queen Creek High set to perform 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' this fall

They are one of the first high schools in the nation to perform the critically acclaimed play from the mind of J. K. Rowling. It was announced in late 2023 that high schools would be able to officially license the play through Broadway Licensing Global, but they had to be chosen.

The Queen Creek High School Theater Company will be performing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for their fall play this year. Queen Creek High will be one of the first high schools in the nation to perform the critically acclaimed play from the mind of J. K. Rowling.

Last school year, the Queen Creek High School Theater Company competed in the Arizona Thespian Regional Acting Festivals, where they received the rank of superiors 32 times in the categories of Tech, Musical, Acting, and Dance. The company competed in the Musical Theatre Competitions of America in February.

It was announced in late 2023 that high schools would be able to officially license the play through Broadway Licensing Global, but they had to be chosen. The local high school's theater department compiled an entry video and it was submitted to the panel of judges. They referenced the great news that they were one of the few schools in the nation to receive a license before the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Queen Creek High School Theater Company will be performing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in November at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, located behind Queen Creek High School, at 22149 E. Ocotillo Road.
