Westbound US 60 closure between Greenfield, Gilbert roads Jan. 7-10

Westbound US 60 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7 to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10. The westbound on-ramps at Power Road, Superstition Springs Boulevard, Higley and Greenfield roads and Val Vista Drive will also be closed.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) advises drivers to plan for the following weekend closure of westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) between Greenfield and Gilbert roads in the East Valley, for pavement maintenance.

Drivers can use Baseline Road or Southern Avenue as alternate routes. Motorists also can consider using either section of westbound Loop 202 (Santan or Red Mountain freeways).

At least one more closure of westbound US 60 will be scheduled on a future weekend, ADOT says likely by late January, to allow for the completion of the pavement maintenance work in the area. ADOT will provide information about restrictions and closures in advance to allow drivers to plan for the use of alternate routes and allow extra time.

ADOT urges drivers to plan ahead for detours and travel delays; slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
