Former President Donald Trump is hosting his first rally of the new year in Florence today, Jan. 15. The Arizona rally will be Trump’s first in the state since July 2021, when he held a rally in Phoenix hosted by the group Turning Point Action.
Today's Save America Rally will be at the Country Thunder Fairgrounds at Canyon Moon Ranch, 20585 E. Water Way in Florence. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the rally starts at 4:30 p.m., with Trump expected to take the stage to speak at 7 p.m.
Trump's Save America political action committee announced Tuesday that program speakers would include My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell and Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake. Other prominent conservative and Republican Party figures set to speak include Congressmen Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs, Congresswoman Debbie Lesko, state Rep. Mark Finchem, Republican Party of Arizona Chairwoman Dr. Kelli Ward, Dr. Alveda King and Boris Epshteyn.
Law enforcement for this event falls under the jurisdiction of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, with the Florence Police Department (FPD) assisting with traffic flow on the major thoroughfares throughout the Town of Florence. Based on the projected attendance of 30,000, FPD said everyone should expect delays on Hunt Highway and Highway 79. An alternate travel route would be Highway 287 and Attaway Road if not attending the event.
FPD says vending for the event along major roadways will not be authorized because of the potential for accidents, obstacles and traffic stoppages. Anyone vending on this day alongside Highway 79, Hunt Highway or any thoroughfare in the Town of Florence that could cause a safety hazard or traffic blockage will be asked to leave and be subject to a $500 fine. Vending will be allowed on-site the day of the event, should any person wish to do so should contact event personnel at 412-855-0881. You may be subject to Pinal County rules as well.
Trump has also started handing out a number of endorsements in Arizona and elsewhere, including to candidates who have denied the state’s election results. In Arizona this includes former TV news reporter and gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, Rep. Paul Gosar, and state Rep. and Secretary of State candidate Mark Finchem.
