Live like a Formula 1 racer for a night and experience the speed and adrenaline of a 1/4-mile National Hot Rod Association drag strip under the midnight stars this weekend.

Firebird Motorsports Park in Chandler is hosting its thrilling Midnight Madness event from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, July 13. This unique event is a chance for the public to get outside and do something fun when the hot summer day starts to cool down and the stars come out at night.

"They can bring their car or truck to drive in a safe and controlled environment with other car enthusiasts," said a spokesperson for Firebird Motorsports Park. "This will bring together the drifters and car lovers for an unforgettable night full of speed and fun."

"'Run What Ya Brung' is an exciting segment that encourages both amateurs and seasoned racers to test their speed by bringing their vehicles," added the park's spokesperson.

Firebird Motorsports Park is located in Chandler at 20000 S. Maricopa Road. Gates will open at 7:30 p.m. on July 13 for this event. If you miss this weekend, the next Midnight Madness event at the drag strip will be on Saturday, Aug. 10.
