The Town of Gilbert welcomes East Valley residents to a variety of holiday-themed events.

After nearly a year of renovations, the town of Gilbert is thrilled to announce the grand reopening of Water Tower Plaza just in time for the holidays.

Gilbert wants to share the joy of the season with you and your loved ones, including your furry friends. Many holiday celebrations are happening around town, including a few visits from Santa.

We’ve put together a list of events in Gilbert to help you plan ahead, but you can also check out the online community calendar for additional holiday activities and details.

Jingle Bell Express | December 13

Join in for a holiday-themed Storytime Adventures with Bear. Wear your pajamas and get ready to make some cool holiday crafts, watch cartoons, and eat popcorn. Plus, we hear there is going to be a "special visitor" stopping by. Jingle Bell Express is happening at the McQueen Park Activity Center on December 13 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. No registration is required.

Riparian After Dark | December 13 - 22

The Riparian Preserve comes alive with a holiday glow during Gilbert’s annual Riparian After Dark event, presented by the partnership of Sundt and PCL Construction. Stroll around the 1.5 miles of trails and walkways that weave through the park and enjoy thousands of holiday lights and displays. This year’s event takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each night from December 13 through December 22. Tickets are available for purchase online.

Santa Workshop | December 14

Join in on December 14 at the Southeast Regional Library from 9 a.m. to noon for a festive, hands-on Santa Workshop. Kids ages 5-12 will build and decorate their own elf workshop, design holiday toys, and create a sleigh for Santa’s big delivery! Registration required.

Paws in the Preserve | December 14

Celebrate Christmas with your furry friend at the fun crafty day in the park! Join in December 14 from 1-2 p.m. as we create beautiful, one-of-a-kind paw print ornaments for your tree. We welcome all friendly, non-aggressive dogs to join in on the fun. Don’t forget to bring some water and a bowl for both you and your pup. Learn more and register online.

Holiday Water Tower Lighting | December 16

After nearly a year of renovations, we’re thrilled to announce the grand reopening of Water Tower Plaza just in time for the holidays. Join us for our beloved Gilbert Water Tower Holiday Lighting, presented by Willmeng, on December 16 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the newly transformed plaza with plenty of activities for kids and parents. 

Freestone Recreation Center Noon Year's Eve Party | December 28

Ring in the New Year with a bang at the Freestone Recreation Center on December 28 from 10 a.m. to noon. Gather your family for an unforgettable celebration filled with fun and festivities. Dive into an array of exciting games, compete for fantastic prizes, and unleash your creativity with a special craft activity. Don’t miss the exhilarating Ball-OON Drop that promises to dazzle everyone as the clock strikes NOON! As the countdown concludes, raise your glasses for a jubilant toast with ice-cold apple cider. Pre-Registration is NOT required.
