Things to do: Arizona Science Center to present livestream of 'OceanX Expedition: Unveiling the Deep' June 27

In addition to extended hours and a full line-up of programming this evening, it has just been announced that the scientist on board who will livestream with the Arizona Science Center is none other than Mattie Rodrigue, the science program director at Ocean X and a Chandler native, who graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in Conservation Biology and Ecology.

The ocean is one of the most mysteriously intriguing places and scientists around the world have spent centuries exploring the sea.

That's why on Thursday, June 27, the Arizona Science Center will extend its hours, from 4 to 9 p.m., to present OceanX Expedition: Unveiling the Deep. They will broadcast live with OceanXplorer, the world’s most advanced exploration, research and media vessel, which is currently in the ocean depths in Indonesia.

The special evening will feature: exploring OceanXperience, an exhibition that replicates the real OceanXplorer vessel and offers activities and experiments similar to those done on board; a live stream with scientists on board to learn about ocean exploration, research, discoveries and more; and a fireside chat and Q&A with Vincent Pieribone, CEO of OceanX.
