St. Mary’s Food Bank distributed more than 12,000 turkeys and holiday food and produce boxes to Arizona families in the three days leading up to Thanksgiving in 2020 and expects even more families to visit the food bank Nov. 22-24 this year.
With less than a week left until Thanksgiving, St. Mary’s has about 6,000 turkeys in its freezers, leaving a need for 6,000 turkeys to reach its goal of providing every family who visits the food bank with a full Thanksgiving meal, including a centerpiece turkey for the holiday.
St. Mary’s is putting out the call to all businesses, organizations and individuals who can help the food bank with donations of turkeys, canned food and cash. With a donation to www.stmarysfoodbank.org about $13 will put a turkey on the table for Thanksgiving.
Everyone is invited to take part in St. Mary’s annual Super Saturday Turkey Drive tomorrow, Nov. 20 when food bank employees and volunteers will be at 19 Albertson's and Safeway locations around the Valley from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to receive donations.
