The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will dedicate their Gilbert clinic to U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Alexander W. Conrad, a Hamilton High School graduate, in a ceremony on Saturday, April 23 at 11 a.m.
All community members are welcome! The ceremony will take place at the VA clinic, located at 3285 S. Val Vista Drive, and will be live streamed via YouTube.
Conrad, who had been twice deployed to Afghanistan, was killed in a June 8, 2018, firefight with al-Qaida-aligned al Shabaab militants in Somalia. He was a posthumous recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Valor and Meritorious Service Medal.
