School of Rock Queen Creek celebrated their grand opening on Thursday, November 7. In attendance included the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce, local business owners, Queen Creek Town Council Member Bryan McClure and School of Rock staff and owner Jason Weiner.

School of Rock is a performance-based school for all skill levels, ages, and musical aspirations. School of Rock offers programming from toddlers to adults, including Rock 101, performance, songwriting, a house band, and an online program. The new business is located at 22355 E. Queen Creek Road, Ste. 102.

"At School of Rock, we teach kids the traditional rock and roll instruments like the drums, bass guitar, vocals, and keyboard. We have the rights to over 1,400 popular rock songs, so we are able to teach the kids all the songs and teach them their musical theory through those songs," said Jason Weiner, owner of School of Rock Queen Creek.

"Traditional music education approaches rarely teach students how to perform with other musicians. The patented School of Rock Method is different. We combine one-on-one instruction with group rehearsals and live performances, teaching students how to play together as a band. Our version of recitals are real rock shows at real venues in front of live audiences."

In addition to music programs, School of Rock Queen Creek offers guitar, drum, singing, bass guitar, and keyboard/piano lessons for kids and adults from beginner to advanced.

"Music has been my entire life for my entire life. I made a decision when I was a teenager that the only thing I was going to do was play music in some way, shape or form, and I have spent my life doing that," Weiner said. "I have made records, worked with all my favorite bands, and so now that my kids are old enough, I wanted to create something that gave other kids the opportunity to experience some of the things I have experienced. Queen Creek is where my family lives, and the community aspect really appeals to us. The locally owned and operated aspect of Queen Creek in so many ways spoke to us, and we wanted to be a part of that."
