The Town of Queen Creek’s new Recreation and Aquatic Center is set to open its doors on Saturday, March 29, bringing exciting amenities like a lazy river, competition pool with diving boards, water slides, a spray pad, and more. With these features comes the need for professional lifeguards, and the town is now accepting applications.
Aspiring lifeguards can look forward to flexible schedules, competitive pay, and comprehensive training. Successful applicants will work in a team-oriented environment at the state-of-the-art facility while serving the community and ensuring public safety.
To qualify, applicants must be at least 15 years old and demonstrate strong swimming skills, including:
- Swimming 50 yards using front crawl or breaststroke.
- Swimming 50 yards with a lifeguard rescue tube.
- Treading water for one minute without using hands.
- Retrieving a 10-pound object from a depth of 13 feet.
Applications are being accepted now, with a hiring event scheduled for Jan. 25. Those hired will undergo in-house training and receive certification through StarGuard Elite standards.
The new facility will also offer swim lessons taught by trained Queen Creek lifeguards.
