Residents in Queen Creek are overwhelming pleased with the community, with 93 percent reporting that Queen Creek is a good or excellent place to live, and 94 percent rating the quality of life as excellent or good on the 2021 Citizen Survey. Traffic and road congestion were cited as the areas with the greatest need for improvement at 45 percent.
The town conducts a citizen survey every 18 to 24 months to gauge resident opinions of the community and help prioritize upcoming projects. The survey is anonymous and participants are selected at random, which provides residents an opportunity to share honest feedback about their town. WestGroup administered the survey on behalf of the town this fall, surveying 906 residents about town services, programs, customer service and communication.
“The council and I appreciate our residents taking the time to participate and are pleased to see the number of participants more than double from 2019,” said Mayor Gail Barney. “The Citizen Survey helps us make informed decisions – thank you for sharing your input on areas for improvement and what is working well for our community.”
The most desired benefit remained the same from 2019 to 2021, road improvements and more roads. The town continues to work toward better roads ahead with continued progress of the 10-year Capital Improvement Plan. A complete list of CIP projects, including those that will connect to the upcoming State Route 24 extension, is available at QueenCreekAZ.gov/BetterRoadsAhead.
While residents want more road improvements, they intend to stay in Queen Creek; 81 percent plan to live in Queen Creek in five years and 95 percent would recommend Queen Creek as a place to live.
Consistent with previous citizen surveys, residents consider Queen Creek a great place to raise children (94 percent good or excellent) and overall sense of community (81 percent good or excellent). Additionally, residents feel their neighborhood is safe (98 percent feel somewhat or very safe during the day, while 92 percent feel somewhat or very safe at night).
