Queen Creek appoints Mohamed Youssef town's public works director

The Public Works Department oversees maintenance of town facilities, fleet and streets, traffic engineering and environmental services. 

The Town of Queen Creek recently appointed Mohamed Youssef as the public works director. Youssef has been serving as the interim public works director for the past six months and has been with the town since 2013.

“Mohamed has been instrumental in reorganizing the town’s Public Works Department to adapt to the evolving needs of the community, while assisting with the creation of the newly formed CIP Department, including leading the public works management team in the development of a new five-year department strategic plan,” said Town Manager John Kross. “This position requires strong partnerships and the ability to lead a diverse group of people with varying backgrounds. I am pleased to officially appoint Mohamed to this position.”

Over the years, Youssef has represented the town on a number of local and regional committees, including the Queen Creek Transportation Advisory Committee, Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Review Committee and the Pinal County Regional Transportation Review Committee. Youssef has also represented the town's interests with the Arizona Department of Transportation at the state level. Youssef joined the town as the transportation engineer manager and in 2018 began serving as the deputy public works director.

Youssef has 32 years of experience in transportation planning and transportation engineering. His past experience included a tenure with the New York City Department of Transportation and Arizona Department of Transportation. Youssef holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a master's degree in transportation planning and engineering, is a licensed professional civil engineer and a certified professional traffic operations engineer.
