QCUSD recognizes students, employees of the month at Queen Creek High

Rick Payne "truly goes the extra mile to try to create a climate of spirit, community and inclusiveness for our students as the leader of Link Crew. Rick is passionate about building relationships with kids to help create a place where kids feel safe and respected."

This month staff and students at Queen Creek High School were recognized for excellence by the Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD).

April QCUSD Students of the Month

  • David Francoeur's teacher said he "is an organized student who always has his work completed and strives for excellence. He is also happy to help his peers and spends time explaining difficult concepts to them and helping them complete problems in AP Chemistry. He maintains a positive attitude in class and this helps to keep the mood in our class lighter. He is truly an exemplary student."
  • Erin Mabry's teacher said, "in recent weeks, she has really made an academic change. She has always been capable of doing well but struggled with making decisions that would set her apart from the average student. She took it upon herself to come in early before school to be retaught, retake and also enrich her learning in Spanish class. She comes in prepared to complete assignments and is just a joy to work with. Erin is a leader in the classroom. She is a student that carries herself with integrity and is just a nice student. She is someone that will work with anyone in class and does so with the best of intentions. Erin is an asset to our campus and will continue to exemplify what it means to be a Bulldog."

  • Andrea Matthews "is the backbone to our program. She is always willing to step in when short-handed, and never waivers on her normal duties. She is kind, and caring, and knows our kiddos like her own. She cares about their well-being, and wonks hard to know that each individual kiddo knows how loved they are. She runs around and makes sure everyone is taken care of. She also has helped with setting up Unified Sports, and ensuring that all of the students are registered and ready to participate and comes at all hours to watch the students and cheer them on."
  • Melissa Gardner "served for 12 years on the Queen Creek High School Football Booster program, nine years as their booster president. She has volunteered for a total of 14 years at Queen Creek High School. She is very hand working, dedicated, and passionate about student success. She has dedicated hundreds of hours to helping the football program, athletic department and teacher programs. Melissa is always interested in supporting others. She makes it a priority to get to know aII of the players and their families. The students/players past and present know that Melissa loves them very much and would give anything to help them succeed. Her outgoing and amiable demeanor always ensures an enjoyable experience in any event that she is a part of. Merissa's combination of dedication, readership, professionalism and personal character make her an ideal candidate."
  • Jessica Johnston "has been a great addition to QCUSD. She is always calm, pleasant and extremely helpful to everyone at Queen Creek High School. When we have questions and/or concerns regarding financial accounts, Jessica is always able to assist us and keep us on track."
