Queen Creek High School (QCHS) held their “Welcome Back to School” pep assembly recently. Back-to-school assemblies aim to get students from all grade levels excited for the year ahead. QCHS senior Quintin M. played a major role in hyping up the other students at the assembly and getting students ready for football season. "We want to get everybody excited, get everybody hyped, and just bring the school culture.”

These assemblies host performances by the marching band, pom and cheer teams, student council, and more. Each grade level also did a “class call,” in which Quintin said that the senior class “blew everyone else out of the water.” Pep assemblies help unite each grade level and cultivate school spirit.

Another senior, Bailey M., shared her enthusiasm for the assembly and the school year. While the assembly gets students excited for the new year, Bailey also explains that it helps bring classmates together and create connections that will last throughout high school and long after.

When asked what they were looking forward to this school year, Emily S. and Kiera T. were both thrilled to attend football games and spend time with their friends. Emily emphasized how she is “looking forward to making the most of her final year” at QCHS before going off to college.

QCHS’s pep assembly was mainly organized by student clubs and had a powerful impact on students connecting to their school. Clubs and extracurricular activities help students learn while making lasting friendships.
