The nation’s premiere network of government communicators recently elected Queen Creek’s Communications, Marketing and Recreation Director, Marnie Schubert, as its president. The organization 3CMA, or the City-County Communications and Marketing Association, has helped government communicators engage and build stronger relationships with their residents for more than three decades.

“3CMA offers communicators from across the nation the opportunity to share ideas and strategies that enhance government transparency and amplify resident engagement,” said Schubert. “I’ve learned so much from 3CMA’s exceptional members over the years, and I’m honored to serve as president.”

Effective public communicators are vital to local government success, linking residents to the essential information they need to access services and be part of the democratic process. They play a key role in cultivating a shared vision for the community.

As the Communications, Marketing and Recreation Director, Schubert is responsible for a wide range of programs, campaigns, special events and activities for the Ttwn such as the Citizen Leadership Institute, recreation classes and Trunk or Treat event. She serves as advisor on policy and strategy to the Town Council and management, is the primary contact in fulfilling the organization’s economic development strategy of tourism growth, and serves on the Visit Mesa board of directors.

Before working for Queen Creek, she served as director of communications for the community of Celebration, Florida, recognized as ‘The town that Disney built’. Prior to that, she was the product marketing manager for Florida Today/USA Today in Florida. She has a Master of Business Administration from Benedictine University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida.
