QC Hometown Christmas, a festive weekend with fun for the entire family, will be held on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7. Presented by Earnhardt Queen Creek Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, the Friday festivities will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Queen Creek Library & Recreation Annex, and the Saturday parade will take place from 10 a.m. to noon along Ellsworth Road.
Onsite parking will be limited; shuttles will be available both days from Desert Mountain Park, 22201 S. Hawes Road, Queen Creek. Please note the shuttle drop off locations vary; Friday will be at the Banner Medical Center and Saturday will be at the Queen Creek Library.
Temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in place before and during the parade on Dec. 7. Closures from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. include:
- Ellsworth Road will be closed from Rittenhouse Road to Ocotillo Road
- Maya Road West of Ellsworth Road
- Victoria Lane West of Ellsworth Road
Closures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. include:
- Ellsworth Road from Ocotillo Road to Aldecoa Drive
- Aldecoa East of Ellsworth Road
Friday, 6 – 8 p.m.
Free activities include entertainment on the community stage, pictures with Santa, decorating garland and ornaments in Santa’s workshop, writing letters to Santa (delivered by members of the Mayor’s Teen Advisory Committee), a scavenger hunt to find the hidden Christmas trees (while supplies last) and the tree lighting at 7 p.m. Food trucks will be onsite with items available for purchase.
Saturday, 10 a.m. – noon
A Storybook Christmas parade will take place on Ellsworth Road. The parade will begin at Maya and travel south to Aldecoa.
