The Kiwanis Club of Queen Creek's 13th Annual Christmas Car Show and Toy Drive on Dec. 11 collected more than 1,000 toys for children of the East Valley and had about 200 vehicles in attendance.
According to Kiwanis member Jon Morris, more than $2,000 in raffle prizes was given out and the 50/50 winner went home with over $600.
"The band Glass Onion was fantastic playing Beatles tribute music to the crowd. This show is not your typical car show," Morris said. "I have been coming to this car show for years and it is a pleasure to assist in putting this on. Thanks for all of those that made the show possible - Queen Creek Fire and Medical - and especially the cadets, Town of Queen Creek, Kiwanis Club of Queen Creek and the Queen Creek Unified School District Family Resource Center.
"Proceeds from the show will go to the youth training program for future firefighters and EMT personnel and other Kiwanis charities," Morris continued. "Special thanks to Earnhardt Rodeo, Award Pros, SSC Auto Repair, Sun Devil Auto Repair, PCC Painters Collision Centers and Queen Creek Fire and Medical for making the event a success."
