One in five children in Arizona faces hunger and lacks proper nutrition. Due to rising costs of living, many families are facing poverty and struggling to make ends meet. To combat this, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria has partnered for the 13th year with No Kid Hungry to raise funds to help end childhood hunger in America.
Throughout the month of September, in honor of Hunger Awareness Month, guests who dine at any Grimaldi’s Pizzeria location can donate to No Kid Hungry, a charitable organization working to end childhood hunger by ensuring all children get the nutritious food they need every day. For every $5 donated, up to a total of $25 per visit, guests will receive bounce back cards matching the donated amount to use on their next visit. All the proceeds raised will benefit No Kid Hungry.
“At Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, we believe that no child should ever have to go hungry or wonder where their next meal will come from,” said Michael Flaum, COO of Grimaldi’s Pizzeria. “Millions of children in America face hunger every day and through our annual partnership with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, we hope to make a positive impact in the lives of children both here in the Valley and across the nation.”
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is one of thousands of restaurants nationwide that supports Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. This organization relies on the generous support from local businesses. For several years the nonprofit has partnered with many restaurants, food banks, and school districts in the Valley. Every $1 donated to No Kid Hungry can help provide 10 meals for hungry children.
“Each year, it’s so moving to see our Grimaldi’s family rally around this mission,” said Flaum. “Since 2012, we’ve raised over $1 million for the cause. All month long, when you dine with us, you’re choosing to support the fight against childhood hunger in America.”
