East Valley Children’s Theatre receives 22 ariZoni Award nominations

Join East Valley Children's Theatre on Oct. 8 to recognize 2023-24 ariZoni Award nominees.

During the 2023-24 season, East Valley Children's Theatre (EVCT) garnered 22 ariZoni Award nominations. These nominations spanned various categories, including outstanding direction, choreography, design, acting, and overall production, among others, showcasing EVCT’s exceptional talent and dedication.

The ariZoni Awards of Theatre Excellence, a nonprofit organization, endeavors to foster the progress of theatre within Maricopa County and the broader Valley region. Each season, more than 200 productions are attended by nearly 100 skilled adjudicators.

“EVCT is honored to have received ariZoni Award nominations for all four of our productions last season,” Lisa Olson, EVCT Board president said. “We are so proud of the talented kids, designers and directors who make EVCT what it is, and we’d like to thank our amazing volunteers for their contributions to the success of this theatre. ”

EVCT received 17 ariZoni nominations and won four awards for the 2022-23 season. This year’s ariZoni Awards ceremony is on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

● Costuming: Nicole Tatro, for Xanadu

● Hair/Makeup: Cori Johnson, for Tale of Bravery; Ellie Lagergren, for Xanadu

● Lighting Design: Chenoa Baker & Zane Petiford, for Anastasia; Zane Petiford, for

Xanadu

● Sound Design: Tanner Morris for Xanadu

● Props Design: Brenda Cranson, for Anastasia
