Phoenix radio icon Super Snake has passed away. Confirmed by his family, the legendary radio host, known for his signature laugh and vibrant personality, died in the early hours of Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023.

Super Snake was a staple on the Phoenix airwaves for decades.

After going to Pepperdine University, Super Snake worked in San Diego radio. From there, he went to Houston, then Dallas, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Super Snake was a household name back in the '90s in the Valley, as a popular radio DJ on the old Power 92 in Phoenix. From there, he went to New York for several years, but Phoenix was always home to him. In 2022 he joined Desert Valley Media Group’s all new HOT 97.5 & 103.9 as a DJ, bringing his charm back to local radio.

In a statement released by his family:

“We are devastated by this unexpected loss. Snake had the ability to make you feel like he was everyone’s best friend because he was larger than life. We will continue to honor Snake’s legacy and ask for privacy at this time. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support.”
