Philip C. Oswald, (79), of Apache Junction, AZ passed away on May 26, 2022
He passed away in Mesa, Arizona at Banner Heart Hospital. He was under the care of great staff there and I must give recognition to his Nurse Matt who was great! He was there that night and the time leading up to his passing along with his Daughter Shauntay and Son-in-law Robert at his side. Matt was making sure that we were informed along the way and answered any questions that we had honestly, straight forward, and yet with care. Philip passed due to his heart could no longer pump on his own here on earth, but he knew that he was going to heaven and there his heart and spirit would be renewed and live on forever. As when we were there the couple days before, and the last time I had a conversation with him. I remember one thing he said “If he says this is my time then it is my time. I don’t know what to expect but if what we are taught is true then I am going to be up there, and I will be watching over you.” My Guardian angel, I love you Daddy.

Philip was born in Parma to Melville and Marcella. He grew up with Sister Patricia, and 3 brothers Kenneth, Paul, and Timothy. He grew up raised in catholic school. As a teen, he loved spending his time playing football for Parma High. He also was part of a band he loved to play the Sax. As he got older, he enlisted into the United States Navy serving 14 years between active and reserves. After this he held a few career passions, He delivered papers for the Tribune newspaper, the stories that he will tell of this time. He also held a black belt in Karate which he taught for many years on the side as he was a full-time baker in the Grocery business which is where he retired from.
One thing that Philip loved to look forward to was being able to take his daughter and family over the many years to California on vacation in the summer. That was when there was many memories and traditions made during them that his daughters’ family will continue. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Philip and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family, his daughter, his closest friends.

In addition to his daughter Shauntay, Philip is survived by his Grandsons Ricky, and Andrew. Son-in-Law Robert M, Niece Paighe and Nephew Robert J. along with their little one Derek and his Nephew Jim, His ex-wife Adeenna, along with family extensions: Eric and his wife Kaitlynn and their daughter Keyani and Family, William L. and Family, Shane and his sister Philene and brother Heath, along with the many other friends that he has had along the way. He was preceded in passing by his Father Melville and Mother Marcella, sister Patricia, and 3 brothers Kenneth, Paul, and Timothy.

The funeral service was held on July 1st, 2022, at 1230 PM. His family was present to welcome loved ones. His Daughter Shauntay is asking instead of flowers that She will be collecting Donations that will be split and Donate in Memory of Philip Oswald to his 2 most loved Charities (the Phoenix Zoo and The Paralyzed Veteran’s) at the funeral. Thanks.

Anchors Aweigh – Song by United States Navy Band.
Anchors aweigh, my boys, anchors aweigh
Farewell to foreign shores, we sail at break of day, of day
Through our last night ashore, drink to the foam
Until we meet again, here’s wishing you a happy voyage home.
