Maxine Collins, 84, of Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1941, in Courtland, Alabama, to the late Rufus and Martha Young Cooper.

Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caregiver whose love and kindness touched countless lives. She was married to the love of her life, Russell Eugene Collins, for 62 wonderful years, and together they built a home filled with warmth, faith, and generosity. Maxine and Russell opened their hearts and home as foster parents for 13 years, providing love and guidance to over 50 foster children. Their selfless dedication made a lasting impact on so many.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell Eugene Collins; her son, Tommy Eugene Collins; and her siblings, Christine Cooper, James Cooper, Cecil Cooper, Tom Cooper, Corrine North, and Abilene Cox.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Terri (Bruce) Cox; her cherished grandchildren, Seth (Alyse) Cox, Stacy (Joe) Hobby, Sarah Collins, Nicole (Frank) Underhill, Melissa Collins, Ethan (Chloe) Collins, and Gregory Collins; and her adored great-grandchildren, Preston Cox, Hudson Cox, Colton Cox, Jaxson Cox, Ella Cox, Ava Hobby, and Zoey Underhill.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Maxine’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Christ’s Church Free Will Baptist in San Tan Valley, Arizona. A private burial will follow at Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler, Arizona.

Maxine’s unwavering love, faith, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Russell and their loved ones in eternal peace.
