Our loving mother and friend Joan Jones (Jo Skid), 74, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024. Joan was born on July 29, 1950 in Long Beach California to her father Henry Justin Skidmore and mother Doris Irene Skidmore.
Joan graduated from El Segundo High School and also attended BYU. She worked in life as a secretary in multiple companies including a Mortgage company, aircraft parts company, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the Government where she held top secret classification.
Joan loved learning to scuba dive, sailing sailboats, riding her Suzuki 750 motorcycle, driving the cars she owned, like a PT Cruiser, Orange Mustang Convertible, her purple Mustang GT Convertible, and going on vacations and adventures. She mostly loved spending time with and raising her awesome son Dana Victor Jones.
She was a friend to many and loved to visit. Joan leaves behind her son Dana whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her siblings Jim (Mary) Skidmore, Janet Flinders, and Jerry (Kimberly) Skidmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Doris Skidmore. We thank all who have been friends and part of her wonderful life. Until we meet again, Love You Mom.
Joan’s funeral will be Monday October 7.
Viewing at 9 a.m. followed by the Funeral at 10 a.m. LDS church at 1430 N. Recker Road in Mesa.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E. Main Street in Mesa.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery.
