Jim passed peacefully at the age of 79. He served a total of 14 years in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Evans and was among the first crew of the USS Dixon in 1971. He had 5 children, Tomi Myers, Tracy Arrington, Jim Wilson, Chris Lautz and Daniel Lautz, who preceded him in death. He had 13 grandchildren.
