January 13, 1939 – May 1, 2022

Don (Donald) Blank passed away quietly on May 1, 2022 at home with loving family around him after enduring a long illness.  He was born 1/13/1939 in Aurora Illinois to Sophie and Louis Blank, He was married to Lori (Laureen) Blank, he was the youngest son and preceded in death by his Brother, Bob and Sister Adele Kroning.   He was the father of two children Julie Blank in Gold Canyon and Brian Blank in California, and 2 stepdaughters, Shera Sever and Lisa Fonseca, 2 grandchildren Milan and Hunter Fonseca.  Don graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Pharmacy, He open a Pharmacy in Geneva Illinois in 1976. Moving to Arizona in 1989 he went to work for Walgreens as a Pharmacist retiring in 2006.  He then joined his wife in opening their own successful Real Estate Brokerage in Gold Canyon, AZ, where he continued to work in Real Estate up until his retirement in 2016.  He was a drummer and member of a band back in Illinois in his spare time.

Don loved to golf, travel, and spend time with his family.  He and Lori traveled throughout the country and to many other countries, including but not limited to, Italy Greece, Sweden, Germany, and Norway.  He was a member of the Gold Canyon Arts Council, The Gold Canyon Democrats, the Residential Buyers Representation council.  He was a member of the Gold Canyon Methodist Church. Don had an amazing sense of humor and would go to the end for his family and friends needing help!  He accepted people for who they were, never pretentious, you always felt better whenever you ran into him.   He was a compassionate man of valor, extremely intelligent, he was a gentle loving soul.

Don loved his family and was filled with humor, grace and continued to search for those he could help.  He was well respected and loved in the community for his business acumen and his penchant for helping those needing help, for example funding the Superstition Community Food Bank and providing support and funding for the first-ever TASTE OF GOLD CANYON to benefit local Gold Canyon Restaurants. Don loved his family, he had many friends he loved, and his 2 little pups, Mickey and Molly.  He will be greatly missed by all. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
