Queen Creek Unified School District leaders cut the ribbon on Crismon High School (CHS) Dec. 12 after its auditorium opened last month, marking the completion of phase one for the school district's third high school.
District and community leaders celebrated this milestone welcoming dignitaries from the Town of Queen Creek, business partners and the School Facilities Oversight Board.
When CHS opened to students in July 2022, it was anticipated to have an enrollment of about 700 students. Instead, they welcomed more than 1,000 on the first day of school. It’s a perfect example of the explosive growth that’s happening in and around the district.
Crismon's 76-acre campus will continue to grow and develop with the community. The facility was intelligently designed with flexibility to allow for future phases and for inevitable changes in technology. It was designed efficiently with energy-saving techniques that make the most of every resource. The state-of-the-art campus accommodates a career pathway curriculum with makerspaces, hands-on learning labs and spaces for collaboration.
"With Crismon High, students have been set up for success. They have the tools they need to pursue their passion and find their path," said Queen Creek Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry. "When we build a new school, we are building so much more. We’re celebrating the opportunities and doors that will open for our students with a premiere-level education."
