QCUSD: When community members partner with local schools, everyone wins

Through partnerships with nonprofits, volunteers, businesses and educational organizations, we have accomplished countless joint efforts that benefit both students and the community.

Queen Creek is the seventh fastest growing municipality in the country. As our enrollment continues to increase in the Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD), so does the value of our partnerships in providing resources and collaborative initiatives that result in positive outcomes for our students.

Through partnerships with nonprofits, volunteers, businesses and educational organizations, we have accomplished countless joint efforts that benefit both students and the community. Volunteers have contributed to projects like shade structures, benches and gardens that enhance our existing campuses. Business partners have provided funding for supplies, scholarships, and their valuable time through career exploration programs, offering first-hand experience to our students. These partnerships help us equip our students with the best tools and experiences as we continue to create space for our growing enrollment.

We invite organizations to partner with us through the following initiatives:

  • Business Partner Breakfasts. QCUSD’s District Office hosts Business Partner Breakfasts to connect business leaders with school administrators. These meetings facilitate idea sharing and relationship building, resulting in teacher appreciation grants and workforce internship opportunities. Our first Business Partner Breakfast will be on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
  • C.A.F.E. (Community and Family Engagement). Our quarterly C.A.F.E. events bring together volunteers, faith leaders and local businesses to plan improvements to our schools and develop relationships with our principals. Our first C.A.F.E of the new school year will be on Thursday, Sept. 19.
  • Interfaith Luncheons. Our community’s faith groups are welcome to attend Interfaith Luncheons to share partnership ideas and match service opportunities with the needs of both our students and the community. Our first Interfaith Luncheon of the school year is on Friday, Oct. 18.
  • Love Our Schools Day. On Saturday, Oct. 19, volunteer groups will beautify campuses or construct much needed improvements like gardens, fresh paint or shaded benches. C.A.F.E. brings these groups together to plan, and Love Our Schools Day puts those plans into action, benefiting our students and strengthening our community.
  • Career Panels. During Career Week in the spring, we invite business leaders from a variety of industries to speak about their specialties. During these events, we match industries with our secondary students who are eager to learn about potential careers, leading to development opportunities and future recruitment.

When community members partner with local schools, everyone wins. We look forward to working with our partners this year to empower students and enhance educational outcomes for a brighter future. For more information, visit qcusd.org.
