To support student growth across Arizona, Primavera Online School, a tuition-free, public charter school based in Chandler, is offering free, unlimited tutoring year-round to students in ninth through 12th grades. Students can sign up for as many online tutoring sessions as they’d like throughout the year at no cost.
“Our tutoring offerings were designed with every student in mind,” Primavera Executive Director Jessica Pagoulatos said. “Whether a student needs five sessions or just one, our learning success partners are ready to help students feel more confident while completing their lessons. We’ve seen great success with students who have participated in our tutoring sessions and we only expect those results to continue.”
Students who participate in tutoring services normally find a dry spell come summer vacation, resulting in a learning deficit. While some traditional programs are only offered while school is in session, Primavera’s program is year-round. Students are able to sharpen their skills at any time, lessening their risk of summer learning loss.
“While summer vacation is a break from the classroom, it shouldn’t mean students should forget the lessons they’ve learned during the previous school year,” Pagoulatos continued. “Over the summer, students are at risk of losing nearly 20% of the skills and knowledge they learned during the school year. We believe tutoring should be a year-round priority for districts so their students can thrive.”
Primavera’s program is open to any ninth through 12th grade student in Arizona, regardless of district or academic performance. Tutoring sessions are available for students five days a week throughout the year, 9 a.m. through 7 p.m. Learning Success Partners can help students in subjects including math, science, English and more.
