Embarking on the educational journey of kindergarten is a significant milestone for both children and parents. Many parents choose to prepare their children for the learning environment by enrolling them in a full- or half-day kindergarten program. At Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD), we believe kindergarten provides valuable learning experiences and opportunities for young students.
QCUSD offers tuition-free, full-day kindergarten programs across all nine of our elementary schools, with half-day options available at most of our elementary schools.
In kindergarten, students receive comprehensive and challenging instruction in academic core areas, including reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Additionally, we also offer college and career exploration opportunities, music classes, physical education courses, art, leadership development, and opportunities to participate in before- and after-school enrichment programs.
Kindergarten is a pivotal time for students to create lasting friendships with peers and receive hands-on learning and exploration from certified professionals who are experts in child development. Our dedicated teachers are passionate about engaging young students and fostering their love of learning.
Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. All nine of our elementary schools will host a Kindergarten Round-Up event on May 2 from 4 to 5 p.m. to assist in that decision-making process. Parents and future kindergarten students are invited to visit the campus, meet the teachers and staff, and learn more about the opportunities that QCUSD can provide. All of our schools also offer personalized tours. You can contact any school to schedule a campus tour at your convenience.
If your child is ready to start kindergarten, I encourage you to learn more about options at QCUSD and attend a Kindergarten Round-up event this May. For more information about our programs, visit qcusd.org/Kindergarten.
