EVIT baking program taking orders through Nov. 17 for Thanksgiving

This year’s Thanksgiving Bake Sale menu features 29 items, including new treats such as Pumpkin Chai Pie and Gingerbread Blondies. On the savory side, the students will also be selling sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish and turkey stock.

The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) Commercial Baking and Pastry Arts program is taking orders for its annual Thanksgiving Bake Sale through Friday, Nov. 17. All items are baked and prepared by students in The Culinary School at EVIT.

This year’s menu features 29 items, including new treats such as Pumpkin Chai Pie and Gingerbread Blondies. On the savory side, the students will also be selling sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish and turkey stock.

Orders can be placed at evit.com/bakesale and items can be picked up between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 and Tuesday, Nov. 21 in the Culinary Banquet Hall at the EVIT Main Campus, 1601 W. Main St., in Mesa. EVIT will be closed Nov. 22-24 for Thanksgiving break.

This year, the students will use at least 400 pounds of bread flour, 50 pounds of chocolate chips, 60 dozen eggs, 150 pound of pumpkin puree, 120 pounds of cream cheese and 60 pounds of pecans.

All proceeds benefit student programs in The Culinary School at EVIT.
