United Food Bank, a local nonprofit that serves the Arizonans in the East Valley and eastern Arizona who experience food insecurity, is excited to announce its newest board chair, Christina Dicksen. Since 2019, Dicksen has served on the board of directors at United Food Bank and currently works as the director of communications at Experience Scottsdale.
Dicksen is an Arizona State University alumna and has worked in marketing and public relations for over 13 years, with the last seven at Experience Scottsdale. As a nonprofit and private company, Experience Scottsdale has contracts with the city of Scottsdale and town of Paradise Valley to conduct destination marketing efforts on behalf of these municipalities. With a fervor for marketing strategy and media relations, she takes an integrated approach to storytelling and boosting brand visibility.
She also serves on the board of Waste Not, a Scottsdale-based nonprofit organization that also works to assist those with food insecurity and an affiliate organization of United Food Bank, for the past ten years. She discovered a passion for fighting hunger during her time with Waste Not and was inspired to continue that work with United Food Bank.
“Since 2019, I have had the honor of serving on the board of directors at United Food Bank and have witnessed firsthand the tremendous impact the organization has in the community each day,” Dicksen said. “The food bank team and wide network of volunteers work tirelessly to meet the needs of our neighbors experiencing food insecurity and uplift those who may have fallen on hard or uncertain times. As someone who believes that food to eat is the most essential thing every human being deserves access to, it is a privilege to serve the organization in this role as United Food Bank continues to grow and expand its impact.”
“We are honored to have Christina Dicksen continue her role within United Food Bank’s Board of Directors as the new board chair,” said Jason Reed, CEO of United Food Bank. “Her support and passion for our mission are instrumental to the growth of this organization and we are excited to see what she will accomplish in this new role. We are thankful to all of our Board of Directors for their dedication to fighting food insecurity in Arizona.”
