Throughout the month of May, Tempe Beach Park will be the site of Foodie Fri-YAYs, a new nighttime series showcasing the best of local food trucks and vendors, live music, and beer and wine. Attendees can wind down the work week and usher in the weekend as they eat, sip and unwind until sunset and beyond each Friday night in May.
Every Friday the free event will feature a new mix of dinner options for purchase from a rotating roster of local food trucks. In addition, local breweries will supply a rotating lineup of beer and wine selections for purchase by attendees ages 21 and up (the bar is cashless and accepts card payments only). Local musicians from around the Valley will be featured each week, offering a different vibe for every event.
The first Foodie Fri-YAY event on Friday, May 6, will feature It’s Seoul Good Food Truck, Hot Bamboo and Kingpin BBQ. Huss Brewery will serve up cold beer and Nomadica white, red and rose wines are available for purchase.
“Tempe Beach Park has always been a top destination for festivals, concerts and all that downtown Tempe offers,” said Kate Borders, executive director of the Downtown Tempe Authority. “With Foodie Fri-YAYs, we’re welcoming everyone back to this beloved hot spot while celebrating the best of local food, drinks and musicians.”
Foodie Fri-YAYs will be from 5 to 9 p.m. every Friday in May (May 6, 13, 20 and 27) at Tempe Beach Park, 80 W. Rio Salado Pkwy., located north of Rio Salado Parkway, between Mill and Ash avenues.
