San Tan Valley Farmers Market & Bazaar happening Dec. 10

Co-founders Carrie Centeno and Paul Kwan said they want to see the market benefiting their community.

We're approaching the second Saturday of the month so that means the San Tan Valley Farmers Market & Bazaar will set up this weekend.

Beginning at 7 a.m. this Saturday, Dec. 10 and going until produce is sold out, the farmers market is located at 40815 N. Ironwood Drive. Parking is at the northeast corner of Ironwood Drive and Ocotillo Road. Get your produce on for $15, cash only at the market on the second Saturday of every month.

Co-founders Carrie Centeno and Paul Kwan said they want to see the market benefiting their community.

The market sells produce at affordable prices, sourced by donations from unsold farm produce. Since May, it has added four more locations and distributed over 348,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. Unused or inedible produce is given for free to local farmers to feed to their livestock.

“We want (the community) to understand that what we’re trying to provide is not just a nutritious source, but also the ability to share with other people in their families and friends in the community,” Kwan said. “We’re trying to get the produce out to everyone who needs it.”

They hope to distribute 1 million pounds of produce by the end of the season.
