Real life dinosaur hunter at the Phoenix Zoo this weekend

Dr. Dino visits the Dinosaurs in the Desert Experience at the Phoenix Zoo March 11-12.

Chris DeLorey, also known as Dr. Dino, will visit the Phoenix Zoo’s Dinosaurs in the Desert experience this weekend, both Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day Dr. Dino will have a display of dinosaur artifacts including a fossil dig where he will give away real dinosaur bones. Dr. Dino will have a table at the entrance of the Dinosaurs in the Desert experience and will showcase fossils, exhibits and tools for people to touch and learn about from him.

DeLorey is the owner of Educational Biofacts, Inc. and former director of education at Brevard Zoo in Florida. He specializes in paleontological consulting and has provided his services to a variety of organizations, such as Billings Productions, who created the prehistoric creatures on the zoo's Dinosaurs in the Desert Trail, according to Linda Hardwick, vice president of marketing, communications and events at the Phoenix Zoo.

Dinosaurs in the Desert is included with general admission or membership into the Phoenix Zoo, located at 455 N. Galvin Parkway. The zoo is currently offering a Spring Into Savings $5 discount online at phoenixzoo.org.
