Sherri Pine of Mesa has been named Four Peaks for Teachers 2024 Teacher of the Year. She received a $3,000 grant and catered lunch for all of the faculty and staff on behalf of Four Peaks for the recognition.

In addition to Pine, nine teachers, including Jill Devorkin from the Queen Creek Unified School District, were selected as $1,000 grant winners through the Four Peaks for Teachers “Thank A Teacher” program.

"Teachers are the heart of our communities and we are grateful to be able to provide them with additional resources,” said Jeremy Bolian, president of Four Peaks Brewing Company. “We recognize that many teachers go above and beyond, often using their own resources to support their work. These grants are a small token of our appreciation for their tireless dedication and commitment to making a lasting impact in their communities.”

The grants recognize outstanding teachers for their dedication and service to their communities through nominations submitted by friends, coworkers and parents.

The 2024 winning teachers are:

  • Ashley Kuproski, teacher in the Chandler Unified School District
  • Chris Skaggs, transition from school to work teacher in the Tolleson Union High School District
  • Crystal Trueluck, teacher in the Crane Elementary School District in Yuma
  • Guadalupe Meza, Spanish teacher in the Phoenix Union High School District
  • Jerry Olveda, math teacher in the Eloy Elementary School District
  • Jill Devorkin, teacher in the Queen Creek Unified School District
  • Julie Montoya, teacher in Albuquerque, New Mexico
  • Martha Chavez, teacher in the Roosevelt School District in Phoenix
  • Quinn Fullerton, teacher in the Washington Elementary School District in Phoenix and Glendale

These grants are part of the annual Four Peaks for Teachers initiative, which distributes free supply kits and provides financial support to teachers across Arizona and neighboring states. Since its inception in 2011, the program has now provided supply kits for more than 57,000 teachers and awarded more than $42,000 in cash grants.
