The Town of Queen Creek hosted the grand opening of the Queen Creek Recreation & Aquatic Center on Saturday, March 29.
The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m., followed by festivities and public tours from 8 to 10 a.m. The facility remained open for tours and membership purchases until 6 p.m.
Located at Frontier Family Park, 22343 E. Ryan Road, the center features an indoor track, fitness area, zero-depth entry pool, lazy river, indoor sports courts, teen room, child watch, and classrooms. The outdoor Aquatic Center, which includes a competition and lap pool along with slides, is set to open in May.
Memberships for residents became available for purchase on March 29, with passes available starting March 30. Both individual and household plans were offered. Residents are required to have an active CivicRec account and provide proof of residency, such as a photo ID and a utility bill, lease agreement, or tax document. Non-residents are allowed to purchase a day pass if accompanied by a Town of Queen Creek resident with a membership or day pass at the time of purchase.
The Recreation & Aquatic Center was designed by DWL Architects and built by Haydon. The facility’s development was approved in December 2021, following resident input received through the Parks & Recreation Master Plan Update adopted in 2018 and a recreation amenity survey completed in the summer of 2021.
