Queen Creek High School’s football coach, Travis Schureman, has been named Region Coach of the Year, a recognition well-deserved for his dedication and leadership. Coach Schureman attributes the success of the Bulldogs football team to the unwavering effort and camaraderie of his players.
“We’ve got great kids who do things the right way, are coachable and work hard,” Schureman shared during an interview with QCUSD Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry.
Reflecting on the season, he emphasized how the players' strong bond has helped their performance. “One of the things I’ve really enjoyed this year is how well the kids get along and how much they love being with each other. When you get kids that want to compete together and enjoy doing it, it’s scary how good you can be.”
Coach Schureman’s acknowledgment of his players’ dedication highlights his team-centered approach. Under his guidance, the Bulldogs have not only excelled on the field but also cultivated a culture of mutual respect and teamwork. His passion for the sport and commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes make him a standout leader in the Queen Creek community.
Superintendent Dr. Berry commended Schureman for his outstanding leadership, noting, “This recognition is well-earned. Coach Schureman exemplifies what it means to inspire and lead.”
