The Queen Creek Unified School District recently recognized the November students and employees of the month from Jack Barnes Elementary and Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary schools.
Students of November are:
- Isaiah Guzman from Jack Barnes Elementary (not present for photos)
- Isaiah is a shy, quiet boy who can easily go unnoticed; however, JBE staff notice him in the classroom for being such a great role model when it comes to following classroom rules and expectations. He is kind, respectful and shows integrity throughout his school day. He does all his schoolwork willingly and will ask for help when needed. He is the perfect example of a student every teacher wants in the classroom.
- Shelby Weaser from Jack Barnes Elementary
- Shelby is new to Jack Barnes Elementary this year and it has been a pleasure to watch her blossom these past few months. She follows our PBIS expectations and her peers see her as a positive role model. Shelby comes to school prepared and ready to learn. She collaborates well with others and participates in class discussions. She is a great friend and is open to hearing other opinions and ideas. She is a great student to have a conversation with.
- Olivia DeLair from Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary
- Olivia is a delight to have in class! She comes to class each day ready and prepared to learn. She is a great student who works hard and sets a quiet example for others to follow. She is a very conscientious student who is consistent, calm and cool-headed. She is an incredibly responsible student and is respectful to both her peers and her teachers. Olivia is an excellent listener and takes pride in her work every single day.
- Kendalynn Audrian from Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary
- Kendalynn embodies kindness. She is a wonderful example and goes out of her way to be kind to others, even when they aren’t kind to her.
Employees of November are:
- Lisa DeMore from Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary
- Lisa has been a great leader for the KMBE Kindergarten team. She has been organized and taken time to talk things out and give thoughtful and helpful suggestions. Lisa is hard working and does so much for her class and coworkers. She is an excellent teacher and a kind coworker.
- Addisyn Nichols from Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary
- Addie is always positive and so helpful with all of our students. She gives great feedback on what she sees when working with students and does what she can to help.
- Sarah Schilling from Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary
- Sarah is a great parent and volunteer who is always willing to help the whole school! She goes above and beyond to support KMBE staff and students. She is so positive and willingly to donate, get and help in any way she can within the classroom. She volunteers to come in to do extra work and even volunteers her time for school-wide events.
- Jennifer Lumley from Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary
- Jennifer is such a kind, helpful mentor and coach and she is always there for her mentees whenever we need her. She is great at what she does and it is always such a joy to see her. She has be understanding and encouraging. She also follows through and provided additional resources when requested.
- Lindsay Pennington from Jack Barnes Elementary
- Lindsay Pennington is a highly respected staff member who serves as our data specialist. She prepares for and facilitates weekly professional learning community meetings with various grade levels, supporting teachers with best instructional practices and interventions that enhance student learning.
- Autumn Page from Jack Barnes Elementary
- Autumn Page is a remarkable role model for students and others, treating everyone with respect and dignity. She is often called upon to substitute for staff or fill in around the campus when positions are uncovered, and she does so with a positive attitude and considerate demeanor.
- Erica Schutter from Jack Barnes Elementary
- Mrs. Schutter spends countless hours volunteering for our schools. She is on campus every week, supporting many teachers by making copies for multiple grade levels. She is very humble and may not realize the positive impact she makes at JBE. Staff have commented that she consistently has a smile on her face and is a pleasure to be around.
- Dave Doerzman from Jack Barnes Elementary
- Dave has helped us navigate purchasing and revising POs whenever needed. He has given suggestions and guidance when asked. He answers our calls in a polite and kind tone, his patience and understanding always comes through. We would like to thank him for his constant efforts in making purchasing decisions easier.
