The Phoenix Scottish Games is this weekend at Gilbert Regional Park and kicks off on Friday, March 4.
Gates open at 5 p.m. tonight because you don't have to go to Edinburgh to see a fabulous Tattoo from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This 90-minute show is a continuous presentation of Scottish music, dance, pipes and drums and military performances.
The games are from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 at Gilbert Regional Park, 3005 E. Queen Creek Road.
The Phoenix Scottish Games are produced by the Caledonian Society of Arizona, the largest Celtic organization in the state, promoting Scottish culture through art, education and athletics. Funds raised at the event support scholarships for aspiring and professional Highland athletes, musicians and dancers and/or other individuals or organizations whose mission, project or program promotes Scottish heritage.
