Holiday closures, Zone 1 bulk trash collection change in Queen Creek

Trash and recycling services will not be impacted by the Christmas holiday this weekend. Residents will need to have their carts out by 6 a.m. on their scheduled day for service.

The Town of Queen Creek offices will be closed on Friday, Dec. 24 in celebration of Christmas. The closure will not affect any public safety or emergency services. If you have a water, sewer or streets emergency during the closure, call 480-358-3131.

Trash and recycling services will not be impacted by the Christmas holiday this weekend. Residents will need to have their carts out by 6 a.m. on their scheduled day for service.

Bulk trash collection registration for Zone 1 will be impacted for the holidays next week. Residents in Zone 1 must request a bulk pick-up online by noon on Wednesday, Dec. 29 for a January pick-up. There will be no impact to registration for residents in Zones 2-4 for bulk services for the holidays. Visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/BulkTrash for more information.

The Recreation Annex will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 24. and Saturday, Dec. 25 in celebration of Christmas and on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1 in celebration of the New Year.

Normal business hours for the town are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, closed Friday through Sunday. Regular business hours for the Recreation Annex, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road, are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday.

Don't forget, the town offers a free cooking oil recycling program. The used oil is collected and turned into clean biodiesel fuel. The collection receptacle is available year-round at Queen Creek Fire Station 2, 24787 S. Sossaman Road.
