In the spirit of giving, former Arizona Cardinal, Super Bowl champion and retired NFL safety Antoine Bethea announced the expansion of his foundation’s annual holiday shopping initiative in support of families who need extra holiday cheer after a difficult year. This year, the Bethea Family Foundation has partnered with BetUS.com to expand its geographic reach, offering 10 families across the country – including across Arizona – the chance to win $1,000 gift cards for holiday gift shopping. The Bethea Family Foundation kicked off its inaugural Christmas shopping sprees in 2010. Since its inception, the program has served more than 100 families who could not afford to purchase presents for the holidays.
“I’m thrilled to partner with BetUS.com to expand our impact this holiday season,” said Bethea, co-founder of the Bethea Family Foundation. “Each year, but particularly this year, families around the country are in need of some holiday cheer. It is a blessing to be in the position to provide families the opportunity to celebrate such a joyful time, despite their financial situation. Every child deserves a happy holiday, and we are proud to be able to provide that for a number of families every year.”
In 2010, Bethea and his wife, Samantha, launched the Bethea Family Foundation to uplift, empower and provide educational opportunities for youth ages 13 to 18. The foundation has generated over $550,000 and impacted more than 21,000 kids and families. Bethea has hosted Christmas shopping sprees, coat drives, football camps, college tours, turkey giveaways, provided scholarships, facilitated jail and hospital visits across the country and donated basketball courts and safe play spaces.

Applicants will be asked to submit a 300-word essay about how winning this giveaway would positively impact their own or their nominee’s family this season. Online applications will be taken Dec. 1-15. Recipients will be announced Dec. 20.
