The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is expanding three of its career training programs for high school students to meet the needs of the growing Southeast Valley.
Aesthetics, criminal justice and welding – previously offered only at the EVIT Main Campus – will also be offered at the new EVIT Power Campus in August 2022.
“These are three of our most popular programs at the main campus and they draw many students from communities closer to the Power campus,” said EVIT Superintendent Dr. Chad Wilson. “As we continue to build out the Power campus, it just makes sense to offer these programs there so students in the Southeast Valley don’t have to travel as far for that training. That aligns with our mission to change lives by loving our students and serving our community.”
Other programs offered at the EVIT Power Campus, 6625 S. Power Road in Mesa, include aviation, cosmetology, future engineers, medical assistant, nursing assistant and veterinary assistant.
The Power campus is in the middle of renovation and construction. The new aviation building, including a plane hangar, should be completed by January, and the veterinary sciences and engineering expansion by next August. Renovations for the health sciences and cosmetology should also be finished by next August, and the third building expansion at Power is expected to begin in the 2022-23 school year. Meanwhile, renovations of the EVIT Main Campus, 1601 W. Main St. in Mesa, are scheduled to begin this year with completion by the end of 2022-23.
The Main campus is also adding a new program: Electrical & Power Transmission Installation. This specialized career in the construction industry involves installing indoor and outdoor residential, commercial and industrial electrical systems and associated power transmission lines.

Adult students pay tuition, with financial aid available in some programs for those who qualify.
