Blood drive at San Tan Veteran Center July 29

This blood drive comes at a critical time, as blood supplies often diminish during the summer months.

The Joe Foss American Legion Post 97 is hosting a "Vitalant Neighborhood Blood Drive" event on Monday, July 29 at the San Tan Valley Veteran Center.

"People have held blood drives and given blood since community service became an American value. It's only natural that the American Legion, with community service as one of its pillars, be heavily involved in blood donation efforts," said a Joe Foss American Legion Post 97 spokesperson.

The local blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Tan Valley Veteran Center, located at 5764 E. Hunt Hwy. in Florence.

In partnership with Vitalant, one of the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit transfusion medicine organizations, the Joe Foss American Legion Post 97 aims to support the community by collecting much-needed blood donations. This blood drive comes at a critical time, as blood supplies often diminish during the summer months.

They invite all members of the community to join them in this life-saving effort. Your donation can help ensure that vital blood supplies are available for those in need. Every donation counts, and together, we can make a significant difference.

Donating is a safe process, and people should not hesitate to give or receive blood. Vitalant has implemented additional precautions to ensure the safety of donors and staff.

Donor reminders: Drink extra water, eat a meal before donating, bring ID, and invite another lifesaver to the blood drive.

Donors must set up advance appointments at BloodHero.com, use sponsor code P2Y328, or call 1-877-25-Vital to schedule your appointment.
