Talking Stick Golf Club completes major renovation project

The highlight of the project is the renovation and expansion of the central clubhouse, which is now 20,000 square feet and includes a new golf shop and dining experience, The Talking Stick Golf Club Grill, as well as a 200-person banquet space, bridal suite, groom’s room, a patio with fire pits, mountain views and a ceremony space.

Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) recently completed a major renovation project, updating the 25-year-old facility.

In addition to the clubhouse, the renovation and expansion also includes a new golf academy, a sandwich house, an indoor and outdoor bar, three large hitting bays, replacement of the parking lot, a new roundabout, and a shaded canopy at main entrance.

“We were able to double the size of the clubhouse and make it an incredible event space for weddings, golf tournaments, banquets and anything our guests may need,” said Roy Smith, general manager of Talking Stick Golf Club. “There are also beautiful cultural touchpoints throughout the new space to honor and appreciate the contributions of the SRPMIC community.”

As part of the SRPMIC, Talking Stick Golf Club partners with other community-owned entities, including Saddleback Communications, a telecommunication provider for Scottsdale and SRPMIC residents and businesses.

With the reliable phone and internet services now provided, guests will be able to stay connected during their experiences at Talking Stick Golf Club.

“We have been working with Talking Stick Golf Club since 1998 when they first opened and it has been a pleasure to see them expand, renovate and serve our community,” said Bill Bryant, president of Saddleback Communications. “We are not only proud to be a partner of Talking Stick Golf Club, but we are excited for everyone to see the new and improved golf club.”

Both Saddleback Communications and Talking Stick Golf Club find great purpose in providing services for and working with SRPMIC.

“Having an ownership group who cares as much as SRPMIC does is a major blessing,” added Smith. “Working with the SRPMIC has been the absolute joy of my entire career.”
