Macayo’s opens newest location in Queen Creek

The Mexican restaurant opens at 10 a.m. on Sundays to serve the church community and early birds. The new Queen Creek location, at 22460 E. Ocotillo Road, features a wrap-around porch-like, dog-friendly patio that boasts an indoor/outdoor bar with garage-style doors.

Macayo’s Mexican Food opened its 13th Valley location with little fanfare on Wednesday, Jan. 17 in Queen Creek.

The popular Mexican dining establishment has been around for 77 years and this is the eighth location to open since Kind Hospitality took ownership of the brand five years ago. As Macayo’s grows and evolves under the Kind Hospitality umbrella, it continues to serve diners the traditional, authentic recipes that have been handmade since its inception.

“In our strategic plan to grow the brand, we are very cognizant about bringing Macayo’s to new and growing communities throughout the greater metro area,” said Nava Singam, owner and CEO of Kind Hospitality, the restaurant group that operates Macayo’s. “We are very thankful to the Town of Queen Creek for the warm welcome and being very supportive throughout construction. We look forward to becoming a part of the Queen Creek community and providing them with our handcrafted Mexican food and memorable dining experiences for many years to come.”

Macayo’s has built a dedicated following of loyal fans as home of the original chimichanga and the restaurant's menu also features a wide range of traditional Mexican favorites like tacos, enchiladas, burros, salads, flautas and fajitas, along with specialties such as Tres Rellenos, Green Chile Pork Stew and Chicken Poblano. Macayo’s is also well-known for its selection of margaritas, served in souvenir ceramic margarita glasses.

The Queen Creek location, at 22460 E. Ocotillo Road, features a wrap-around porch-like, dog-friendly patio that boasts an indoor/outdoor bar with garage-style doors.

Cruz Olivarez is general manager of Macayo’s. Born and raised in Mesa, Cruz began his career in the hospitality industry in 2011 and has been part of the Kind Hospitality family since 2021.
